Certified & Sworn Translation

Official documents submitted to Estonian or foreign authorities often need a translation certified by a sworn translator. We provide certified translations into and from more than 40 languages — from birth certificates and diplomas to court rulings and company register extracts.

A sworn translation is an official translation whose accuracy is confirmed by a sworn translator's signature and seal. It is accepted by courts, notaries, ministries, universities, immigration offices and other authorities in Estonia and abroad.

Before we start, we check exactly which certification the receiving authority requires: a sworn translation, a notarised translation, an apostilled translation or consular legalisation. This way your document is not rejected and you do not have to start over.

You receive the translation on paper by post or courier, or as a digitally signed file — whichever the receiving authority accepts.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a sworn and a regular translation?

A sworn translation is certified with the sworn translator's signature and seal and is accepted by authorities. A regular translation is fine for information or internal use but is generally not accepted for official submission.

How long does a certified translation take?

A short document such as a certificate or extract is usually ready within a few working days. We give you an exact deadline with your quote, and express service is available.

Can I receive the translation digitally?

Yes. If the receiving authority accepts digitally signed documents, we send the translation by email. Otherwise we send the signed paper original by post or courier.

Will the translation be valid abroad?

That depends on the destination country. Where needed, we add an apostille or arrange consular legalisation so the document is valid there.

Why aren't prices listed online?

The price depends on the document's length, the language pair, the certifications required, the destination country and the deadline. Rather than showing vague price ranges, we send you an exact, free quote — usually the same working day.
